The snail, undisturbed by the apparent intruder, remained relaxed and stationary as the mantis stood on its shell.But travelling by snail isn't the fastest mode of transport and, after a little while, the mantis peers over and notices the snail has not moved."

"A lazy monkey hitches a ride to the top of a tree - sitting on the back of a macaw. The squirrel monkey hopped onto the bird and wrapped his arms around its neck to avoid the 26ft climb. He lives with a male and female blue and gold macaw at a countryside hotel, where they always eat and play together. Photographer Alejandro Jaramillo was in San Agustin, Colombia, when he noticed the unusual friendship."

Hop-on hop-off? "This remarkable shot was taken by Martin Le-May while he was walking with his wife through Hornchurch Country Park in Havering, London. The pair heard “distressed squawking” before witnessing the woodpecker’s “struggle for life” as the weasel clung to its back. The amateur photographer from Essex told ITV that he “feared the worst” for the bird, which appeared to be “unnaturally hopping about like it was treading on a hot surface” before it flew in their direction. Fortunately for the woodpecker the weasel fell off and it flapped its way to safety."

On June 22, a bird watcher was alerted to the presence of a baby seal stuck in mud when a herd of 30 cows surrounded and investigated it. According to a Facebook post by the Natureland Seal Sanctuary, the pup was only about 5-days-old at the time of its rescue.
