Bravo! People love it - the last Blockbuster store in US stands strong after 9000 stores (employed 84,000) quit

There is only one Blockbuster still surviving in the entire United States. Employees mourn the closure by leaving candles outside the store: Alaska’s last two Blockbuster video rental stores are closing this weekend -- leaving only one Blockbuster store open in the United States. 7/13/2018 Alaska’s last two Blockbuster stores — community gathering spots and nostalgic tourist attractions that got a big plug from HBO’s John Oliver — are shuttering. That leaves just one of the once ubiquitous video rental hub open in the entire U.S. The franchises in Anchorage and Fairbanks will close for rentals after Sunday night and reopen Tuesday for video liquidation sales through the end of August, said Kevin Daymude, general manager of Blockbuster Alaska.
7/18/2018 "Making the trek to this "last standing" Blockbuster Video Store is a must do!" (Yelp review)
Oh my how the blue and yellow Blockbuster Video Storefront has changed since 2004 when there were 9,000 Blockbuster outlets. By 2013, all corporate-owned stores closed and fast forward to July 18, 2018 -- this family-owned Bend, Oregon store has earned the distinction as the last Blockbuster in operation since the two remaining Alaska stores closed their doors this week.
Call me sentimental but that trek to Blockbuster to rent the new releases and buy-up those bargain basement "old" VHS titles was a wonderful experience that we looked forward to. There were also those Great blockbuster flick memories tied to many occasions like date night, family movie nights, etc. But alas, The days of browsing 1000s of VHS tapes on shelves, being regulars and knowing the blockbuster staff are things of the past replaced by "red" boxed kiosks and online browsing.
If you find yourself in Bend, Oregon, making the trek to this "last standing" Blockbuster Video Store is a must do!
7/20/2018 "Blockbuster knows how to keep it about the movies" (Yelp review) I rate this location 5 bags of popcorn and a little film reel to keep that film a reelin'.
Blockbuster knows how to keep it about the movies and movies, they have. Sadly the format of VHS is being pushed further out of favor for the newer formats but Blockbuster will always be regarded as the VHS rental king. True On Cinema at the Cinema members appreciate what Blockbuster means to the film industry.
Blockbuster video stores closing in Alaska, leaving chain with 1 location in US
There's 1 Blockbuster left in the US and its owner refuses to close
The stores in Anchorage and Fairbanks will close for rentals after Sunday night and reopen Tuesday for video liquidation sales through the end of August, said Kevin Daymude, general manager of Blockbuster Alaska. He said residents were sad when they heard the news and many people have been reminiscing about their Blockbuster memories.
In recent years, Blockbuster stores have vanished in most of the U.S. But their survival lasted longer in Alaska, with some crediting expensive internet as a factor in keeping many people renting videos rather than streaming. The closures will leave the Blockbuster in Bend, Oregon, as the sole holdout. "How exciting," said the Bend store’s general manager Sandi Harding. "It might end up being a little chaotic for a couple of weeks." As for the fate of that store, the future looks good.
At its peak, Blockbuster operated over 9,000 stores, the New York Times reported in 2011.

Brilliant post. Thanking you for this put up shared with us. Its miles a form of evaluation and i wish it'll

I am so happy to say you thank you because your post is obviously fantastic. I agree with you in all terms. As you said, your story seems to be unique from that by other writers, which I have read. Novel is somehow a fictional story writing in general. But in order to keep the readers thrilled, it should be well written with beauty. Being a journalist, one can get good experience in writing with some flavors. Generally, a journalist needs vast vocabulary and professional usage of the language. Usually, journalists put some decorating words to make their articles interesting to read. This becomes the routine for a journalist. However, some years of experience will definitely lead a journalist to write a biography or a book himself. This is the starting stage of a novel writer within a journalist.
